One gentle flick of the wrist, and the light line soars forward, dropping the kebari precisely on target. A native brook trout rockets to the surface and crushes it, turning for safety in the rocks below. The angler feels the rod flex all the way down to the grip as the fish connects and runs, moving it deftly to hand after a spirited fight.
What are we talking about when we say "5:5, high-flex"?
The results tell us that there is support for "standard" length rods (somewhere around 12 ft), as well as interest in our shorter UNC rod (8.5 ft). Feeling confident that the community would be interested in either length, we looked at what is already available in tenkara rods, and we saw that there are a lot less high-flex choices for short rods than for long ones.
Like all Badger Tenkara rods, the ROCKY CREEK SPECIAL will set a new standard for performance at price. This dynamic, high-flex action is ideal for casting lighter lines and unweighted flies. Small-to-medium fish will give exciting play on the hook - you'll feel the "flex" all the way down into your hands, where a 12-inch EVA grip offers a wide variety of hand positions.
